In Ephesians 3, Paul prayed that the Ephesians would be strengthened with God’s might (v.16), that Christ would live in their hearts by faith, that they would be rooted and grounded in love (v. 17) and know Christ’s love, and that they would be filled with God’s fullness (v.19). He said in verse 20 that God is able to grant these things and far more.
I pray that all of us would experience God like this—to taste the sweetness of His eternal, unconditional love in Christ and see that God is good! Then, let us go beyond tasting to letting Christ settle down and be at home in our hearts, and to growing roots into the soil of His love so His love is expressed to others through us.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray for us, Your children, that as we read Your Word, it would be to us a honeycomb dripping with the sweetness of Your unfailing love. May we seek You whole-heartedly and drink deeply from the well of Your Spirit that flows with living water. Let us be like sponges which become saturated with You Yourself so that we “drip” your goodness wherever we go. When trials squeeze us, let Your unconditional love pour forth, drawing many to repentance. Amen.
