God’s Kind of Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.” (New Living Translation)

Oh God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker and Ruler of everything, please cause me to love with Your kind of love!

When life presses in on every side, let patience and kindness come forth. If circumstance seems to chew me up and spit me out, let forgiveness and mercy flow from me. Please deliver me from the irritability that quickly blames and stirs up anger. Cut me loose from envy and grant me a generous spirit. Teach me courtesy and compassion, leaving behind self-seeking and arrogance.

Father, please teach me to trust You more and to obey Your command to love others as Christ has loved me. Amen.
