Prepare the Way–Then Focus on Jesus

Luke 3:4, 8—“Prepare a pathway for the Lord’s coming! Make a straight road for him! Prove by the way you live that you have really turned from your sins and turned to God.”

Romans 12:1—“…I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice….”

Proverbs 4:25-27—“Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; then stick to the path and stay safe. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.”

1 Peter 3:11—“Turn away from evil and do good….”

Let’s prepare the way for Jesus in every area of our lives by repenting of any sin His Holy Spirit points out and turning to God. His path will be made straight as we sanctify, purify, and devote ourselves entirely to Him. So let’s present ourselves as living sacrifices—holy, entirely His.

And then, “…Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish….” – Hebrews 12:1-2 (All quotes New Living Translation)

  1. Thank you for sharing this powerful Scripture Tricia and yes our flesh does weigh us down as Romans 8 tells us, to be fit vessels for God’s Kingdom work, we must put it to death by the empowering of The Holy Spirit as we choose to walk in His fruit, which is Love.

2 Timothy 2:19-21 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, let every one that nameth the Name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the Master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

We are having some time off to catch up with Computer backlog but will be in touch when we start blogging full time again, take care.

Christian Love from both of us Anne.

  2. Thanks for the extra scriptures. Hope you can get everything taken care of with your computer.
