The Best Religion?

The Best Religion?                                                           cross on Bible 1
Last night I read an article about a certain religion. Perhaps as religions go, it’s okay. But all religions are only mankind’s efforts to reach God, and the gulf between us and the holy, almighty God is too great for any human or man-made system to cross. Even Christianity, if it’s just rules and rituals instead of relationship with God through Jesus Christ, is as useless as any other religion.
Christianity’s Holy Bible, though, tells us about the God who created everything and who is powerful enough to raise the dead. Not only that, but this almighty God loves us. Even before He created the “very good” world, He knew it would be broken by sin. So He planned to redeem us so we could have fellowship with Him. Ephesians 1:4-5 says, “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” [New Living Translation (NLT)]
The triune God knows we could not come to Him, so because He is love, He came to us. Because God is holy and just, the price of redemption for sinful people (death) is too high for anyone of us to be able to pay. However, this same righteous God took pity on us and took our punishment on Himself (Jesus), paying the price we couldn’t. What cause for rejoicing! And the good news doesn’t end there. Jesus rose from the grave, proving He had the right and power to redeem fallen mankind. Now all who trust and follow the Lord Jesus Christ can have the relationship with God that He desired from the beginning.
“Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know Him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.” [Hosea 6:3 NLT (emphasis mine)]
“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” (I John 3:1 NLT)

  1. Thank you Tricia, and I agree with you Christianity is of the heart not just the head, it is not only about what we do outwardly that shows our Love for the Lord but what motivates us to do it. Those who gossip and slander, running others down or reveal things that were shared in Trust and confidence to harm them but then say they believe in a Loving God, don’t know His heart but we continue to pray they will have real repentance the same as those who do what many believe are the big sins, of course this is not referring to weaknesses and shortcomings we all have them and we are not to judge others for them but are tolerant and Loving.

If we have been Saved we will show it, in other words we are Saved and being Saved, God knows those who are His and did before we were conceived, He knew of our heart repentance and our acceptance of the free gift of Salvation in Christ Jesus His beloved Son who we are being conformed into the image of, that is why He tells us to put our flesh to death by choosing to turn from evil and do good by the empowering of The Holy Spirit and He assures us we have been set free in Jesus so no temptation will be greater then we can bear, as we seek Jesus He we give us the Victory and we will walk as He walked.

1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

1 John 3: 6-8 whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.
