How the armour of God stopped a gun in my face

Wonderful testimony from kingintraining.

This was a living nightmare I will never forget. I don’t think anyone would.

One dark night in 2003, just before I moved to the States, my friend Wendy and I had planned to go out with some friends. We were all dressed up and off we went, she was driving. The plan was to fetch her new boyfriend first and go on from there. On the highway, twenty minutes from his house I got this terrible fear over me. Out of nowhere. This fear was taunting me about arriving at Luke’s house.

“Listen Wendy, when we get there, just tell him to get into the car and drive off. No chatting. Something doesn’t feel right.”

Lord, please protect us.

There was nothing sinister going on. The stars were out, the highway was clear. But this horrible sense of foreboding would not leave me. I tried not to harp on…

  1. Hi Trisha, I use to wonder why Jesus didn’t rebuke those who were whipping Him and who nailed Him to the cross but of course I know why now, He considered our redemption was much more important than His own Life even knowing in the garden what would happen on the cross, He knew He would be separated from His Father for the first time since He was Born as a man in the Flesh but not the Spirit, having been conceived by The Holy Spirit.

Jesus since Eternity had always been in complete Unity within The Godhead or Trinity as they are called today but knowing that good and evil cannot be in Unity and that because of our sin He would be cut off, this grieved Him and The Father greatly, Jesus sweated blood, a sign of deep profound anguish but knowing it was His Fathers heart desire that none of His Children would perish and because of His own Love for us, and because He knew there was no other way even though wanting there to be one, He said to The Father….Not my will but yours be done and so He became fully man on the cross taking on himself the punishment for our sin.

It is so True Trisha, The Spirit of The Lord considers others first, we see this again with Paul and His desire to save the Romans although he was tortured and suffered and so did all the other followers of Jesus over the ages and today, who have been Martyred wanting to offer the Hope of Salvation to those in darkness.

When people think of themselves first regardless of others, and promote this, it is one way we can know deception or if the flesh is in control which we are to put to death by The Spirit. Romans 8. We are all under the Devils influence until we are Born Again and he will put us to the test but in our trial he cannot cause us to loose our Salvation which we had the promise of before we were born. God knows those who are His and protects our soul, and strengthens us so we can endure, we have been sealed for Salvation, which we are to walk in but Satan does seek to cause us too loose our inner Joy and Peace by trying to deceive all of God’s Children, his will is we live in bondage and fear, never having all we can have in The LORD and so loosing our rewards too.

P.S It’s all right Trisha about the previous comment, I don’t keep track now, but replies remind me to visit as do those who visit me, I also love a conversation but perhaps it’s not the same for everybody. I do spend a lot of time Blogging, that is when I don’t have problems with my Blog, but it is amazing how God leads me to Blogs too, some I have never heard of.

    • Hi Anne,
Thanks for commenting on this. We always need to keep our eyes on Jesus. Then we will walk in His ways instead of our own.
      Richest blessings in Christ,
      Tricia

      • Tricia , that is such a wonderful Truth you just shared, and it is confirmed in the Scripture below…

Philippians 4:6-8 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Jesus is all these things too and we are to seek always to do as God asks us to and it is so easy to focus on evil, it is what Satan wants because we loose our peace and Joy, yes we are to stand up always for God’s Truth as you have just done Tricia and we are to know Satan’s tricks but we don’t focus on the darkness and it’s evil, we Live in Jesus’ Light and shine… and we thank others for sparkling as we, encourage and uplift them in God’s Love.

Thank you Tricia – Christian Love from both of us – Anne
