Where Is the Meeting?

Don’t you hate it when you’re looking for something on the internet, and you get the screen “Error 404—Page not found”? But there are times in my life when I’m glad for “page not found”—like when I start to dig up those sins which have been confessed, forgiven, and forgotten by God. (See 1 John 1:9, Isaiah 43:25, and Hebrews 10:17)

Psalm 103:12 makes a great promise: “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” And Jesus makes it true for all of us who trust in Him (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Thank You, Father, for removing my sins so far from me. I can forget the past except for the lessons I’ve learned. I cannot meet up with those transgressions again. If a person travels east, they can go around the globe 100 times and still be going east. Also, if we travel west, we’ll still be going west no matter how far we go. So east and west have no meeting point, no “page” where my sin could be found.

I can’t thank You enough, O Lord my God.

Reference Scriptures:
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Isaiah 43:25 “It is I who sweep away your transgressions for My own sake and remember your sins no more.”
Hebrews 10:17 “I will never again remember their sins and their lawless acts.”
2 Corinthians 1:20 “For every one of God’s promises is “Yes” in Him. Therefore the “Amen” is also through Him for God’s glory through us.”

  1. Yes Tricia as I have shared with you a few times, we are forgiven if we Repent until we are Born Again and Perfected in Love, Jesus is our Advocate and Intercedes for us but we are to put our Carnal Flesh to death which causes us to Sin as we choose to Walk in The Fruit of The Spirit and Aim to be Perfected in Love, yes we are to Work out our Salvation but not meaning work for it.

Romans 8:1-9 There is therefore now no Condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.
    (KJV)

    Blessings – Anne.

  2. I have re-read 1 John 1. I can see that a person might think that the forgiveness offered in verse 9 is offered only to those who have been walking in darkness and then turn to Jesus. But verse 7 says that if we walk in the Light as God Himself is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. It seems to me that “all sin” would include recent sins (failures, falling short of God’s glory) as well as sin previous to salvation. Likewise, when I am convicted by the Holy Spirit of a sinful attitude or action and then confess that attitude or action as sin, verse 9 would apply to me even though I received salvation years ago. To confess my sin as sin does not excuse it–it is being honest with God so the way for forgiveness is opened. Then I am free, and His Spirit empowers me to forsake that sin and live for Him more completely

But even if 1 John 1 only applies to non-believers who have not repented of their sin, 1 John 2:1 is still written to believers specifically. “My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father–Jesus Christ the Righteous One.”

I seek to follow Jesus more and more closely so I can learn His ways more and more and obey Him more and more faithfully. But until I am completely sanctified, I will be very thankful for the forgiveness and continual cleansing promised in 1 John and for the “no condemnation” of Romans 8:1.

    Blessings,
    Tricia

  4. It takes a Humble Person with Integrity to apologize Tricia, Thank you and I’m pleased you still want me to Follow you and Comment on your Posts, I was hoping you would.

I always think of you as a Blogging friend Tricia whom I Value very much as a person of Worth and with knowing you too are Loved and Valued greatly by God and that we are One in Christ Jesus, I look forward to our Eternal Unity in Heaven with Him.

    Blessings – Anne.

    • And I also value you as a blogging friend and a sister In Christ and look forward to when we will together be with the Lord Jesus in His eternal kingdom.
Lest someone read these comments and be discouraged because they recognize sin in their lives even after salvation, I want to add these verses from 1st John:
1John 1:8-10 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”
1 John 2:1 “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
Note that John is writing to believers whom he calls “my little children” and “brethren” (1 John 2, verses 1 and 7). These verses (1 John 1:8-10 and 1 John 2:1 give me hope of getting right with God when I stumble and fail in my efforts to follow Jesus.
      Blessings,
      Tricia

      • Do I Sin Tricia, well as from this Minute I choose not to do so do you too? but of course right now I can say the same as Paul did below on his Journey in regards to being Perfected ……

Philippians 3:12-14 Not that I have already obtained all this or have already been made Perfect but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me Heavenward in Christ Jesus.

But I seek with the Lord’s Leading and Empowering to be able to say the same as Paul one day …

2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith. Now there is in store for me the Crown of Righteousness which the Lord The Righteous Judge will award to me on that day and not only to me but also to all who have longed for His appearing.

But we can’t do it by ourselves Tricia that is why Jesus had to die so we would be Empowered not to Sin as we work out our Salvation not meaning work for it. Jesus has set us free from Sin’s Slavery and forgiven us of our past Sins, this is His Sanctification nothing less.

The Scriptures 1John 1:8-10 when read in Context from the beginning of the Chapter is referring to those who say they haven’t Sinned so don’t need Salvation, which Atheists often claim, so yes they are calling God a liar .To continue to Sin means we are still in darkness 1John 1:5-7 and yes we can be forgiven, Jesus is our Advocate but we must turn away from Sin not excuse it as some do claiming we all Sin until we Die, which is not confirmed for Christians in Scripture, only for those who are not saved..

2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises dearly beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, Perfecting Holiness in the fear of God.

        Blessings – Anne.

  5. Very True Tricia, God is indeed Loving and Merciful and yes He forgives us and chooses to no longer remember our Sins when we have Heart Repentance, which means we turn away from evil and seek to do good by the empowering of The Holy Spirit and we do this by putting our Carnal flesh to death as we aim to be Perfected in Love and than when we are we no longer Sin, we see all this confirmed in the Scriptures below.

We put our Carnal flesh to death……..

Romans 8 :12-15 Therefore, brothers we have an obligation but it is not to the Sinful nature to live according to it or if you live according to the Sinful nature you will die but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body you will live because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

Galatians 24 -26 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. if we live in the Spirit let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

2 Corinthians 7: 1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, Perfecting Holiness in the fear of God

We Aim to be Perfected in Love…….

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore Perfect even as your Father which is in Heaven is Perfect

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ let us go on unto Perfection not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of Faith toward God.

Philippians 3:14-16 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore as many as be Perfect be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless where to we have already attained let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

2Timithy 3:17 That the Man of God may be Perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

1John 4:16-19 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love; and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our Love made Perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but Perfect Love casteth out fear because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him because He first Loved us.

1 John 2:4-6 He that saith I know Him and keepeth not His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word in him verily is the Love of God Perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith hebideth in Him ought himself also so to walk even as He walked.

2Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be Perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in Peace and the God of Love and Peace shall be with you.

    We no longer Sin……….

1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to Sin, because God’s seed remains in him he cannot go on Sinning because he has been Born of God.

1John 5 18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God Sins but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto Sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What we believe in our heart dominates our thoughts and becomes our words and actions. Proverbs 23:7a K.J.V

John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who Sins is a slave to Sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Romans 6:18-20 Being then made free from Sin, ye became the Servants of Righteousness.

Romans 6:22-23 But now being made free from Sin and become Servants to God ye have your fruit unto Holiness and the end Everlasting Life. For the wages of Sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What people get confused about Tricia are weaknesses and shortcomings, which we all have but they are not judged as Sin, such as Anger when it comes from grief or confusion is not a Sin but we do not hold onto bitterness an resentment and seek revenge instead of forgiving if we do it is Sin. Jesus came to heal not condemn , Man judges critically and without Love and Compassion because he looks on the outside but God sees the heart and knows the motivation or the reason.

1John 3 – No one who lives in Him keeps on Sinning. No one who continues to Sin has either seen Him or known Him. Dear children do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is Righteous, just as He is Righteous.

1 John 2:4-6 He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His Commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the Love of God Perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

1John 4:16-17 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love; and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our Love made Perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of Judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.

Romans 6:6- 7 For we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of Sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to Sin because anyone who has died has been freed from Sin.

It is True that if we claim we have not Sinned an don’t need Salvation we are calling God a lair but if we continue to Sin we are still in darkness(1John1) yes we can be-forgiven if we come to heart repentance, Paul explained the weakness of the flesh in Romans 7 but shared what to do about it in Romans 8 and other Scriptures as noted above.

    • Anne, thank you for liking my post and for commenting. The Scriptures in your comment do support your point that we need to die to our flesh–the carnal sinful nature. And that is certainly true. However, the comment is excessively long and wanders from the purpose of this post–to glorify God with praise and thanksgiving for His incredible mercy and grace in completely removing our sins through the cross of Christ.
      Blessings and Christian love,
      Tricia

      • What I shared with you Tricia is the Full Plan of Salvation which many are unaware of and it does indeed glorify God with Praise and Thanksgiving for His incredible Mercy and Grace in completely removing our past Sins through The Cross of Christ which also sets us free from Sin’s Slavery so we no longer Sin, when Born Again of God’s Seed and Perfected in Love.

Yes All Scripture Tricia Glorifies God whom I Pray to before I Blog, so I do not limit The Holy Spirit in my Comments or in others who Comment on my Blog unless they are rude, use course language are argumentative ignoring Scripture or they Mock The Godhead in what they share.

If wanted by you, I will no longer follow you or Comment.

God’s Love and Blessings – Anne.

        • Dear Anne,
I guess I misunderstood your comment. I don’t want you to quit following my blog or to quit commenting. I also pray to God about everything I post and everything I say in comments and every reply I make to comments. I didn’t catch on to the fact that you were sharing the full plan of salvation.
          I apologize for my misunderstanding.

  6. Thank you, Tanya. And God bless you also! I’ve been thinking about you this week. How interesting that we were both thinking about God’s wonderful gift of forgiveness in Christ.
    Love you my Christian sister,
    Tricia

  7. Love ingenious blog today.. I was just pondering that same thought a week ago. God bless you!
